TOONE BAPTIST CHURCH
According to records available Toone Baptist Church was organized August 8, 1860. The church held to rule and practice of faith common to the Southern Baptist Convention in this period. The church had regular services and attended by early settlers in the community. The first building was a one room log building located near where Deming Cemetery is located today. The church grew and in 1882 a wooden structure was built, later bricked it with additional Sunday School rooms, this being where the Toone City Hall is located today. Due to continued growth, a new church building was built and completed in March 1967 in a lot donated by the Paul Yarbrough Family.
